2024 Teaching Awards

Dr. Rebecca (Becky) Swanson has been named the 2024 Burton W. Jones Distinguished Teaching Award winner. Becky is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics & Statistics at the Colorado School of Mines. She was selected for her expert use of evidenced-based practices, her careful mentorship of students, and her effective promotion of teaching and learning among the entire mathematics community. Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Arnold has been named the 2024 Early Career Teaching Award winner. Liz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University. She was selected for her skillful use of research to inform her own and others' pedagogical practices, her creative community engagement strategies, and her dynamic classroom instruction.
