Vice Chairperson Election Update

The Section Nominating Committee is pleased to report that Brittni Lorton (Community College of Denver) has accepted a nomination for the position of Section Vice Chair. Brittni’s candidate statement and biography are available here.

Additional nominations for this vital leadership position will be accepted from the floor of the Annual Section Business Meeting at Colorado College on Saturday April 20, 8–8:50 am. Nominations can also be sent in advance of that meeting to Mike Jacobson. Self-nominations are encouraged. All elected officers must be members of the MAA.

This leadership position is vital to the organization and operation of the MAA Rocky Mountain Section. It is reserved for an individual from a two-year school who serves a two-year term on the Section's Executive Committee (with election to a second two-year term permitted). Details of the position duties are described in the Section Procedures Handbook.

The election itself will take place electronically in the weeks following the Spring 2024 Section Meeting, with section members contacted via email to vote following the same procedures that are used for the elections conducted for our congressional representative. The term of office will begin immediately upon announcement of the election results.
